Save Book World
As mentioned on January 21, 2009, in http://isak.typepad.com/isak/2009/01/save-wapos-book-world.html, The Washington Post is seriously considering folding its entire stand-alone book section, Book World. An effort was launched to save Book World from folding.
Sadly, this was to no avail. The Post announced January 28 that it was ending regular publication of Book World, eliminating one of the few...

Reading early and often does pay off
Tim, my oldest, is thinking of and becoming a writer. He’s started a serialized novel, about the original vampire, the struggle between good and evil, and identity. I can remember like it was yesterday, reading Dr. Suess, then watching him reading on his own, now a budding author. How cool is that! Check out his posts at: http://timtheyounger.wordpress.com/

1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die
Just came across this book and a site that provides more descriptions (http://www.listsofbests.com/list/2222?page=1) The Amazon review says that this “will be a boon companion for anyone who loves good writing and an inspiration for anyone who is just beginning to discover a love of books.” Wow - in looking through this list, I’ve read some, but boy do I have a ways to go. rādhnoti - prepare and achieve
The Webster’s dictionary of reading includes the act of reading words to either to learn something by reading or pursue a course of study. I chose the Sanskrit word of rādhnoti as a means to show my love for reading to prepare oneself to achieve goals in life.
More to follow as I think this through…
